Contest Eligibility

• The BeSolar Solar System Giveaway (the “Contest”) is open to all residents of South Vancouver Island who are 18 years of age or older at the time of entry and who own a “qualifying home”. South Vancouver Island is defined as all areas south of Superior Road in Lantzville and East of Jordan River.
• A qualifying home is one that meets the eligibility requirements for the Greener Homes Grant.
• Employees, their immediate family members and affiliates of BeSolar are not eligible to participate in the Contest.
• BeSolar customers who purchase a solar system and have installation commenced by BeSolar between January 1st, 2024 and December 19th, 2024, are eligible for entry into the Contest.

Methods of Entry

• Purchase: Participants can enter the Contest by purchasing a solar system from BeSolar during the specified contest period.
• Component Purchase: Additional entry tickets will be awarded for the following:
  • Purchasing an EV Charger from BeSolar with the solar system purchased from BeSolar. Proof of purchase required.
  • Referring a qualified lead who subsequently purchases a solar system from BeSolar the installation of which is commenced before 10:00 AM PST on December 19th, 2024;Proof of purchase required; only one participant referral entry is permitted per referred project and referral must be registered with BeSolar.
  • Purchasing a battery backup system or transfer switch as part of the solar system purchase from BeSolar. Proof of purchase required.
  • Purchasing a consumption monitoring system as part of the solar system purchase and installation from BeSolar. Proof of purchase required.
• Referral: No purchase is necessary to enter the Contest. Participants can secure an entry by referring a qualified lead who subsequently purchases a solar system from Besolar before December 19th, 2024. The referral must be submitted using the BeSolar Sweepstakes referral form supplied by BeSolar and registered prior to December 19th, 2024.

Conditions to Satisfy Before Winning

• To be eligible to win, participants must correctly answer a skill-testing question.
• Participants must agree to a rights form, granting Besolar the right to use their name and likeness in promotional materials.

Privacy Notice

• BeSolar will collect and store personal information provided by participants for the purpose of administering the Contest and awarding prizes.
• Personal information will only be used in accordance with BeSolar’s Privacy Policy.

Precise Contest Times and Duration

• The Contest begins at 10:00 AM on January 1st, 2024, and ends at 10:00 AM on December 19th, 2024.

Circumstances, Time, and Place of Winner Selection

• There will be one Contest winner.
• The winner of the Contest will be selected via a live stream draw at BeSolar headquarters, located at 638 Hillside Ave, on December 20th, 2024, at 10:00 AM.
• The winner will be contacted through email and telephone once each day for 3 consecutive days starting on December 20th, 2024 and will have 14 days from the date of the last attempt of contact to claim the prize.

Alternate Winner Selection

• In the event that the selected winner is unable or unwilling to or does not claim the prize, an alternate winner will be selected using the same method as the original drawing.
• Should it be required a second name shall be drawn at 10 am on January 5th, 2025, and so on until a winner can be confirmed.
• Should the draw date fall on a weekend or Statutory Holiday the draw shall happen on the next business day.

Prizes and Their Value

• The prize consists of one free solar system and installation supplied by BeSolar (by refund of the original cost excluding taxes or by installation of a new system) and may have an approximate retail value of between $2,500 and $25,000 CAD.
• Eligible Participants living in a qualifying home who do not have a solar system installed by BeSolar shall receive a solar system as determined by BeSolar including installation with a potential value of up to 25,000 CAD before applicable taxes.
• Eligible participants living in a home where solar can not be installed shall be awarded a cash value of $2,500 CAD.
• Prize must be fully claimed within 6 months of award.

General Prize Conditions

• Prizes are non-transferable, non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash or other products or services.
• Winners are responsible for any additional costs associated with the prize.

Products Involved in the Contest

• The products eligible for entry into the Contest include solar systems, EV Chargers, battery backup systems, transfer switches and monitoring systems provided by BeSolar.

Specific Rules for Minors

• Participants under the age of 18 are not eligible to enter the Contest.

Contest Promoter’s Right to Void or Modify

• BeSolar reserves the right to void or modify the Contest, in whole or in part, if unforeseen circumstances or supply or technical difficulties arise.

Rules about Intellectual Property

• As a condition of entry, winning Participants hereby permit BeSolar the right to refer to the Participant and to use their photographs for promotional purposes.

Odds of winning

• Odds of winning depend on the total number of eligible entries received for the applicable drawing.

Referrals

• Referrals must be for a property that is not the primary residence of the participant making the referral.

Liability Limitations and Releases

• As a condition of entry, Participants agree that Besolar shall have no liability for any consequential or indirect damages or for any loss, cost or expenses incurred by a Participant as a result of participating in the Contest or through the use of the prize.
